SANKA brooches are made of filt and woollen cloth - cut into diffrent shapes, then handmade embroidered with threads and beads.
They are modern interpretation of traditional motifs from Polish artistic folk paper cut-outs. Originally, this folk art is full of strong, bright colors and naive, simple forms - and these qualities I wanted to preserve in my objects.

The idea of handmade embroided brooches comes from traditional background of my grandmother, who lived her whole life in a small village in northern east of Poland, and used to sew many house decorations herself. Children's toys, graphic signs and logos are my another source of inspiration.
